The City of Virginia Beach is hiring Mechanic Technicians! The Fleet Management Division of Public Works has multiple opportunities in their Heavy-Duty Shop, Marine Service Shop, Fire Shop, and more. Our Mechanic Technicians perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment utilized by City operations including automobiles, trucks, boats, and heavy equipment and machinery.

Depending upon the position, ideal candidates will possess ASE certifications, a valid Class A or B CDL, Virginia State Inspector License, and prior relevant experience. Please see individual postings on our careers page for specific duties and qualifications.

CDL Hiring Bonus: Newly hired employees with a valid Class A or B CDL will be eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus paid in three increments during the first year of employment.
