Delta Aquatics, a year-round competitive swim club that has operated for more than 20 years, is a coach-owned USA Swimming Silver Medal Club based in Oswego, Illinois, in the western suburbs of Chicago. Delta serves swimmers from beginner through Senior and National competition and is known for a positive, athlete-centered culture, strong technical development, and a seamless pathway that connects our lesson program to our competitive team.
Position Summary Delta is seeking a Full Time Coach to join our staff beginning in March/April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established and ever-growing competitive swimming program and play a key role in its continued development and success.
We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated coach who is committed to expanding swimmers’ abilities and working collaboratively with our coaching team. The ideal candidate is passionate about swimming, focused on athlete development, and enjoys working with children and teens. In addition to being reliable and a good communicator, the ideal candidate will possess high ethical standards and will be as invested in our swimmers’ character and personal development as they are in their competitive progress.
The coach will lead two training groups appropriate to their experience and goals, assist with additional groups as needed, and play an active role in team operations.
Compensation: This full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
Plan, write, and lead comprehensive season and yearly training plans that include water, dryland, and educational components designed to prepare swimmers for the next level of training and competition.
Provide age- and skill-appropriate training and feedback with an emphasis on individual growth, teamwork, and competitive technique, including stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and race skills
Create an engaging, positive training environment that promotes learning, effort, and enjoyment
Model professionalism, positivity, and sportsmanship at all times while supporting athlete well-being
Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and coaches, maintaining a collaborative,transparent approach
Work closely with the coaching staff to ensure a unified approach to training and athlete progression
Participate in staff meetings, team activities, community service, and social events
Support meet operations, including entries, on-deck coaching, and session coverage
Maintain compliance with USA Swimming and SafeSport policies
Qualifications
Competitive swimming and coaching experience
Current USA Swimming coach credentials, or ability to obtain promptly
Knowledge of current technique development, stroke mechanics, and training methods
Positive, energetic presence on deck who models teamwork, reliability and strong communication
Strong organizational skills and familiarity using SportsEngine, Meet Manager, and Google Workspace
Availability to work evenings and weekends, including meets
US citizen or current visa authorization to work in the United States
