An exciting opportunity has arisen within a $1BN private markets manager entering a new phase of growth and evolution under recently appointed leadership.

Working closely with the CEO, the COO will play a pivotal role in helping shape and scale the platform, taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the business across finance, operations and technology. This is a highly commercial role requiring an individual who can balance strategic thinking with a willingness to remain hands-on when required.

The successful candidate will bring experience operating within a private markets environment and understand the realities of managing a growing asset manager where resources are finite and every investment in people, systems and infrastructure must be carefully prioritised.

Key Responsibilities

1. Partner with the CEO to execute the firm's strategic growth plans
2. Oversee the firm's finance, operations and technology functions
3. Assess and enhance the scalability of the operating platform
4. Drive operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives
5. Manage key third-party providers and strategic vendor relationships
6. Support budgeting, resource allocation and infrastructure investment decisions
7. Ensure appropriate governance, controls and operational risk management frameworks are in place
8. Lead business change initiatives and organisational development projects

Candidate Profile

1. Proven track record as a COO within a private markets manager
2. Strong understanding of the operational, financial and technology challenges facing growing investment firms
3. Experience building and scaling operating platforms within resource-constrained environments
4. Commercially minded with the ability to balance growth ambitions against cost and execution realities
5. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
6. Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically as required

Experience within private credit or broader credit-focused investment strategies would be particularly attractive, although exceptional candidates from adjacent private markets sectors will also be considered.
