Role Overview:
Aa leading global financial services firm is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the Financial and Regulatory Reporting function for our Hong Kong and China entities. This senior role sits within our Financial Control Division and offers the opportunity to drive transformation, manage key stakeholder relationships, and oversee reporting for a major regional hub.
Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Local (IFRS) and Group (US GAAP) standards, including consolidations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Manage the timely and accurate submission of monthly FRR returns to the SFC.
• Strategic Initiatives: Lead digital transformation and AI-driven automation projects to enhance process and control efficiencies.
• New Business: Review and approve new product proposals from accounting and regulatory perspectives.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team comprising onshore staff and offshore service provider teams.
• Stakeholder Management: Drive regional project initiatives (HK/AEJ) and manage relationships with internal and external auditors.
• Governance: Maintain a robust control framework and support the annual budgeting processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Degree qualified and a certified professional accountant (CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, ideally within Banking/Financial Institutions combined with a strong background in a Big Four Audit Firm.
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS reporting, including consolidation principles.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Proven experience with HK SFC FRR reporting requirements.
• Core Competencies: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a track record of independent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
• Technical Tools: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a distinct advantage.
