Description
Job PurposeThe Head of Client Origination CG/CPC, is a pivotal senior leadership role designed to spearhead and significantly expand client acquisition and wealth growth across Onshore and Offshore Citigold and Citigold Private Client (CG CPC) Singapore segments. This role will strategically drive Net New Investment Assets (NNIA), Net New Assets (NNA) contribution from New-To-Bank (NTB) clients as well as accelerate the acquisition of high-value Citigold Private Client (CPC) tier clients, and premiumizing the wealth portfolio. A deep understanding of global and local wealth management landscapes, an unyielding obsession with client experience, superior financial acumen, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the firm's rigorous risk, control, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards are paramount. This leader will drive transformational initiatives, delivering bespoke solutions to deepen client relationships, capture significant market share, and generate sustainable long-term value for the franchise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Vision & Growth Architecture:
- Define and execute a holistic, end-to-end strategic framework and execution plan to capture the firm's growing wealth management opportunities across IPB and Onshore CG CPC Singapore, with a strong emphasis on driving NNIA, NNA, and increasing the acquisition of CPC tier clients to premiumize the wealth business.
- Lead the comprehensive design, execution, and continuous optimization of high-impact acquisition campaigns and sophisticated rewards programs. This includes identifying new products and business opportunities based on evolving client needs to consistently deliver top-tier New-to-Bank (NTB) customer growth, NNIA, and NNA.
- Develop, implement, and rigorously assess new business programs to achieve aggressive business growth goals.
- Conduct sophisticated competitive market analysis to identify strategic gaps, providing actionable insights for positioning the firm, increasing market share, and differentiating its value proposition in a highly competitive landscape.
- Spearhead strategic planning processes grounded in data-driven insights, proactively identifying high-impact strategic initiatives, growth accelerators, and potential market dislocations.
- Develop and present compelling recommendations to the leadership team on critical initiatives, encompassing overarching growth strategies, granular product and segment strategies, and cross-business synergies.
- Drive transformational strategies to grow and reposition businesses, ensuring alignment with global and regional wealth management objectives.
- Architect and implement strategic campaigns with both internal and external partners to elevate brand awareness and drive new customer acquisition through a multi-faceted approach, including robust referral programs and strategic alliances.
- Identify appropriate channels for NTB originations to support the growth aspirations of the business. Lead the channel management strategy for NTB customer acquisition, ensuring optimal lead generation, conversion efficiency, and seamless integration across all origination platforms.
- Cultivate and maintain high-level professional relationships with all tiers of management, critical internal stakeholders, and external partners to align organizational goals and strategically expand the business ecosystem, with a specific focus on optimizing channels that drive NTB customer acquisition.
- Proactively engage with executive-level business stakeholders and key external partners to validate client needs, ensuring collaborative delivery of integrated solutions across product partners.
- Champion the client experience by defining and anticipating evolving client needs, ensuring the delivery of tailored solutions and services that consistently drive exceptional onboarding satisfaction scores CG CPC clients.
- Oversee the implementation of high-impact acquisition and rewards programs that achieve aggressive wealth onboarding and NNDA growth targets.
- Instill rigorous cost discipline and active financial management, including meticulous management of program resources and third-party partners, to maximize healthy returns and consistently meet financial targets. This includes a focus on investments, capital, and expense optimization.
- Identify and implement strategic opportunities to reduce budgetary spend through innovative sales practices, advanced project management platforms, and the discovery of operational efficiencies.
- Establish and manage robust performance measurement frameworks, utilizing strategic franchise development scorecards and project/function-specific metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the business strictly adheres to all regulatory obligations pertaining to the Risk and Control framework, including all relevant approvals.
- Spearhead the strengthening of controls that enhance client satisfaction and operational effectiveness, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability for managing risk across all levels. This includes a particular emphasis on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), KYC, and other financial crime prevention measures.
- Guarantee strict adherence to confidentiality and data protection policies, ensuring full compliance with the firm's stringent control environment and evolving regulatory mandates.
- Establish and rigorously monitor a well-defined Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) for the entire department, with clear evidence of appropriate oversight and proactive management.
- Exhibit exemplary judgment in assessing risk associated with business decisions, always prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This involves driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and proactively escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Cultivate and embed a culture of responsible finance, strong governance, effective supervision, expense discipline, and unwavering ethics throughout the department.
- Champion a culture of collaborative partnerships across organizational boundaries, actively fostering synergies that deliver compounded value for the firm.
- Actively recruit, develop, and mentor a diverse and high-performing team, fostering a talent pipeline and providing opportunities for growth and mobility within the organization. Contribute to continuous team improvement initiatives, serving as a role model and coach for junior staff and leadership alike.
- Display a commanding leadership presence, earning the respect and trust of senior leaders and partners.
- Demonstrate exceptional ability to multi-task productively and reliably, expertly managing conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Act as a true business builder, capable of articulating a clear vision and motivating a geographically dispersed and diverse team towards common goals.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in wealth management, client acquisition, or related financial services roles, with a significant portion in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large, complex sales teams, preferably within a wealth management or banking environment, with direct experience overseeing managers.
- In-depth, comprehensive understanding of the global wealth business, its financial drivers, and regulatory landscape, covering both international and onshore markets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct large teams of knowledge professionals, exhibiting superior problem structuring and analytical capabilities to break down complex challenges into actionable solutions.
- Exceptional ability to size and prioritize large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across diverse business units, consistently delivering impactful results.
- Advanced ability to work effectively and influence senior and middle-level managers, as well as large interdisciplinary teams, across a matrixed organization.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex strategies and present compelling arguments to executive audiences.
- Strong problem structuring and causal thinking, combined with astute business judgment and a relentless focus on demonstrated results.
- Outstanding analytical and quantitative capabilities; a history of academic and professional excellence and achievement.
- Proven ability to think creatively, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex business with full Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability.
- Deep understanding of a broad range of banking and wealth management products.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA) preferred.
