Description
Heavy Equipment TechnicianFinke Equipment is seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Selkirk, NY. This position involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment while providing outstanding service to our customers.
Our technicians work on Bobcat, Kobelco, Bomag, and many other types of construction and compact equipment. No two days are the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with a variety of machines.
You'll work in a modern, well-equipped shop featuring radiant floor heat, two overhead cranes, and company-provided diagnostic tools to help you work safely and efficiently. We believe in giving our technicians the equipment, training, and support they need to succeed.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and parts installation on heavy equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Use diagnostic equipment and testing tools to identify equipment issues.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation on a daily basis.
- Communicate effectively with customers, service advisors, and management.
- Work closely with manufacturer technical support teams when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Help ensure every customer receives a positive service experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Diesel Technician, Agricultural Equipment Technician, Automotive Technician, or similar role preferred.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical schematics and service information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.

Job Details
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $40.00 per hour (based on experience)
Expected Hours: 4060 hours per week
