Position Overview
Relevate One is seeking an experienced BICSI-certified Low-Voltage Systems Technician to join our installation and engineering team.
This is a customer-facing position responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and supporting access control systems, video surveillance cameras, networking equipment, and related low-voltage technologies.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of low-voltage field experience and is currently BICSI certified or nearing completion of a BICSI certification. Experience installing access control systems is strongly preferred.
Relevate One will provide training on the specific manufacturers, platforms, networking technologies, and emerging artificial intelligence solutions used in our projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling and related infrastructure.
- Install and support video surveillance cameras, network video recorders, and associated equipment.
- Install access control systems, including card readers, controllers, door hardware interfaces, request-to-exit devices, and related components.
- Install and connect networking devices, switches, wireless equipment, and other technology systems.
- Read and follow project plans, wiring diagrams, scopes of work, and manufacturer documentation.
- Configure and test installed devices to confirm proper operation.
- Identify and troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, power, and equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate installation records, labeling, photographs, and project documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, coworkers, and other contractors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Participate in manufacturer training and continuing education opportunities.
- Travel to customer locations throughout Missouri and Kansas as required.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- BICSI certification or significant progress toward obtaining a BICSI certification.
- At least two years of professional experience in the low-voltage, structured cabling, security, or technology integration field.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work professionally in occupied, customer-facing environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project locations throughout Missouri and Kansas.
- Ability to complete short-duration overnight travel assignments, typically lasting two to four days.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous access control installation experience.
- Experience installing video surveillance systems.
- Experience with network cabling, switches, wireless devices, or other networking technologies.
- Familiarity with major security and technology manufacturers, including:
- Verkada
- Axis Communications
- Gallagher
- Brivo
- Other comparable access control and video surveillance platforms
- Experience working with electric locking hardware, door position switches, request-to-exit devices, and access control panels.
- Experience testing and certifying copper or fiber cabling.
- Additional manufacturer, networking, or industry certifications.
Travel Requirements
This position requires travel to customer locations throughout Missouri and Kansas. Most assignments are within the regional service area. Overnight travel is generally short in duration and typically limited to two to three days at a time.
