We are working with a well-established global asset manager to hire for their Hong Kong ETF Portfolio Management team. The position is open at two levels depending on experience.

The Role

You will join a dedicated ETF Portfolio Management team focused on managing a broad range of HKEX-listed ETF strategies, with a particular emphasis on derivatives-based and complex products including Leverage & Inverse (L&I) ETFs, covered call strategies, and swap-based structures. The team operates in a fast-paced, execution-intensive environment where precision and product knowledge are critical.

The successful candidate will report to two Portfolio Managers within a team led by the Head of ETF Portfolio Management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily ETF portfolio management: trade execution, rebalancing, cash management, corporate actions, and performance/tracking error monitoring
2. Management and execution of L&I ETF strategies, including daily rebalancing, swap counterparty management, and derivatives implementation
3. Monitor and analyse derivatives positions (swaps, options) used in ETF portfolio construction and hedging
4. Coordinate with the ETF Capital Markets team on AP/market maker relationships, basket operations, and primary market processes
5. Support new ETF product development and prepare portfolio analysis and investment commentary for internal and external stakeholders
6. Ensure adherence to HK regulatory requirements including the SFC Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds

Requirements

1. Analyst level: 1-3 years in ETF portfolio management, ETF trading, derivatives, or a closely related investment function
2. Assistant PM level: 4+ years with direct, hands-on ETF portfolio management experience
3. Hands-on experience with L&I ETF products (physical or synthetic/swap-based) strongly preferred and will be prioritised
4. Derivatives experience (swaps, structured products, options) is a key differentiator
5. Bloomberg EMS proficiency required
6. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
7. Familiarity with the SFC Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds
8. Programming skills (Python, SQL, VBA) and CFA/FRM are a plus
