The Junior Sous Chef plays an important role in supporting the culinary leadership team by overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and fostering a collaborative, positive work environment. What You'll Do

• Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in the daily operation of the kitchen.
• Supervise and lead culinary colleagues during assigned shifts.
• Prepare and present high-quality food that meets Hyatt's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Assist with menu execution, recipe adherence, and food preparation techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and minimizing food waste.
• Help train, coach, and develop culinary colleagues while promoting Hyatt's culture of care and inclusion.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary experience in a hotel, resort, upscale restaurant, or similar environment preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
